Decrypt PIN from windows 10

Even I have physically access(my pc) and also administrator access to pc which is running windows 10 protected with PIN,can I decrypt it using WPR or RWP?
as far as i know windows 10 vault decryption is hard and also did research and found windows 10 now store PIN as "passport". it is not same as windows 8 PIN storing method or some i am nor clear by the way.

RE: Decrypt PIN from windows 10

That's right. Windows 8 (and seems that some versions of 8.1) have a great security hole: everytime a use switches its account to PIN or Picture Password, his/her original plaintext password is placed into Vault and can be 'easily' decrypted by anyone who has physical access to the PC. I said easy but actually it is not that esy because the Windows Vault itself is very good and uses very strong encryption algorithms and I know only one program that can decrypt Vault entries in offline mode:) See the samle of Vault offline decryption here. The problem was mainly in base concept.

Starting with Windows 10 Microsoft guys fixed the vulnerability. Now the Vault holds some protected data (instead of plaintext password) which seems encrypted with PIN-derived credentials. Something like that.

Hope passcape would finds out the way of Decrypt the vault information from windows 10 and possible to get stored passwords information from microsoft edge browser(perviously known IE).

by the way I am still unclear, where exactly windows 10 stores PIN loging credential information, either encreypted or plain text.maybe in dpapi blop files or in vault or both!!

The program supports it already. You can easily decrypt MS Edge passwords to plaintext for any user account. Assuming that you know the user's password and has access to his/her profile directory.

Well, that is the problem. Even though we can see some PIN-related info is stored in Windows Vault and some info in NGC folders, it's not that easy to figure out the way the whole scheme works. Probably we should refer to NGC papers but there is no detailed information on it.

RE: Decrypt PIN from windows 10

It should work. The Standard edition supports Vault decryption. You can see all the features your edition supports at this page: Windows Password Recovery editions

MS Edge (as well as IE 10-11) saved passwords are much easier to recover unlike, for example, IE 7-9 stuff. I posted somewhere in our blog an article that describes newer versions of IE/Edge with their weaker protection. So there should be no problem recovering it. Make sure you're using the latest version of the program, 'cos it has some changes in Vault code, along with a couple of bugs fixed.

windows password reset

Windows Password Manager is a free manager for XP and windows password issues and it works as good as can be expected. In addition, the main thing is to stop using the external hard disk until you use this tool, and avoid writing any files to it.
